Next week, January 24, marks the fourth International Day of Education, carried this year by its theme: “Changing Course, Transforming Education.” Proclaimed by the United Nations General Assembly in 2018, it is an international observation day that aims to commemorate the growing role of education in bringing global peace and sustainable development.
With Teleperformance committed to creating a positive impact, we firmly take a stand to leave no one behind and support the ongoing drive to make education available to all. Our recent Citizen of the World (COTW) initiatives in Indonesia, Tunisia, India, and United Kingdom aimed to strengthen education for the greater good of the younger generations—our bridge to the future. We hope to have brought a spark of hope and bright optimism to our local communities through these COTW programs:
Teleperformance in Indonesia
During Ramadan, our Teleperformance team in Indonesia visited Panti Yatim Indonesia, an orphanage in Jakarta, engaging in a fun painting activity with the children. The team provided tote bag painting kits and school supplies, as well as meals to break the fast and dinner. School supplies including pencils, rulers, erasers, sharpeners, pencil cases, water bottles, and coloring pens were then distributed to the children.
Our COTW initiative impacted 20 children in Panti Yatim Indonesia!
Teleperformance in Tunisia
Partnering with SOS Children's Villages (of Gammarth and Akouda), the Darna Association, and FACE Tunisia, Teleperformance in Tunisia was able to sponsor 34 school bags and 1,588 items of school supplies to children.
Teleperformance in India
For the next three years, Teleperformance in India will continue its educational initiatives that aim to impact the lives of 8,933 children. These educational programs will reach:
visually impaired children
intellectually challenged children
Teleperformance in the United Kingdom
Teleperformance in the United Kingdom donated to 16 schools and community groups across the country: Scotland, Northern Ireland, Southern England, and Northern England. Our UK team delivered 500 stationery packs to families and donated a variety of books. to help families who have members studying at home. Our team in Scotland also donated school clothing.
Education remains a right for everyone, and it continues to play an integral role in shaping the future and creating opportunities towards a brighter tomorrow. Let’s push for a brighter tomorrow today by strengthening education and making it a reality for all.
